First off- I'm able to sit and type out an actual response only because my kinds are engaged in the baseball card game that you posted. I'm not even joking when I say one child is wearing the hockey hat you recommended...so...we are just all leaning into the Lindsay Sword fandom in a very big way. I too have reached a moment I'm craving the things from my past. I have a purple (!!) chiffon Marc Jacobs jacket sort of thing from the early aughts that I used...let's say...80% of my first paycheck to buy, and it remains one of my favorite purchases ever. It added so much life to my post-college "going out" wardrobe in a way I haven't been able to replicate since. I LOVE your Very Fun Things To Do blazer and now feel that everyone should have one. My big NY resolution is NO MORE BASICS. I am so over-stocked on lovely grey stuff. All that's allowed in is interesting, textured, considered items that make my pulse race. Xx

I love this so much!! So glad the baseball game and hockey hat are both Big Hitters 😂 I feel like I can picture that MJ jacket…he had such a hold on early 00s fashion! Very Fun Things To Do blazer is the best bit of branding and now we might need to do a whole post about them! Love your style resolution - I’m jumping on your bandwagon! No more new basics! Just pulse-racing clothes! xoxo

So formative!! One of the best days of my life was when the store opened in the mall 😂😂😂

This is my favourite time of the year!

So much of what you said resonated. I too have been trying to break free from the monotony of quiet luxury and it’s been pretty fun!

It’s so fun! Such a clash of Big Events and Couch Life 😂 I’m here for all the clothes! Can’t wait to embrace some new (old) style inspo in 2025!

I am 100% convinced that we have all been in the cozy cave of quiet luxury and we are walking out, rubbing our eyes, and seeing the light of more personality. I know I am! I am allowing the magpie in me to dictate my wishlist items and I’m excited to see I’m not alone!! Thank you thank you as always for the shout out, it’s awesome when someone you admire sees you back 😘

I love that visual and you’re so right! I think the combo of the pandemic and quiet luxury (and having babies) really did a number on my style that I’m just starting to course correct. I’m so excited by the prospect of recapturing the JOY that Delia’s catalogs, and laying out my school outfits, and going to the mall used to give me! Thanks for the inspiration, always!

I’m not familiar with Delia‘s, I don’t think they had them in Canada, but I do remember all of those looks from the early 00s. I say, if you want to wear it, then wear it, and to hell with what anyone else thinks! Wear ALL the going out tops!

I will cheer for colour and exciting, fun clothes that make you feel happy. Here’s to a new year, and thank you so much for all the excellent articles, Lindsay.💕

No Delia’s in Canada 😮 but I’m glad the looks were universal! They were formative for me, less in style (although yes, that), definitely in feeling. “Fun clothes that make you feel happy” - love that, so simple if I can only block out the noise. That’s what 2025 is for! Thank you for reading, Sheila, and happy new year!
