I loved this report back from Amsterdam as I really love that city. I noticed a similar thing about canvas totes in CPH and I feel like, if it’s good enough for them then it’s surely good enough for me! I’m leaning into fun totes until further notice.
Also, I’m FASCINATED by merchandising and the way our climate crisis will play out in fashion. I hadn’t thought of those specifics until now and I’m going to be chewing on that for a while.
Finally, I have to say, Gap really IS killing it with knitwear this season!
Fun totes for the win! And I feel like they’re a great gifting item - no worries about fit, lots of price points, and there is something for everyone out there!
I think the fashion system really has to acknowledged the climate crisis, its role in it, and how the industry itself will adjust so as to reduce waste, and right size demand. It’s so complicated.
I can’t wait to see how GAP evolves, especially as more and more of Zac Posen’s product hits the stores!
Lindsay!!! 1) your outfits need a vocabulary word that means adorable + chic. chadorb? idk. 2) the bottom right photo of Amsterdam is BREATHTAKING 3) every link I clicked was like 'oh wow, oh wow!!' This is so so good.
Thank you thank you thank you! I love chadorb 😂! That city does not have a bad angle. It is stunning, at every turn, in all weather! So glad you enjoyed!! 🤍
Love the musings from inside the house — forecasting is such an incredible business especially as it relates to fashion. I concur about Gap as well (and yes @evonnesturm the campaign is great!)
It’s so fascinating, I love the psychology that goes into forecasting! And I wonder how much impact Zac has had so far at GAP! It feels like there have been big changes, but I’m not sure how much of “his” product could have delivered yet. Going to be so fun to watch!
Love your insights from Amsterdam! We are in agreement on the Gap! Loving everything they’re doing including their recent marketing for the holidays. Wrote about some of my observations here - https://musingsofamerchandiser.substack.com/p/gaps-timeless-comeback-a-nostalgic
Thank you for your comment, Evonne, and sharing your post! I can’t wait to check it out!
This was SUCH a fun read! 😊
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed it!
Dyinggg to go to Amsterdam. Your trip (and outfits) look so great!!
No city like it! xx
Love trend trips! What a highlight
Best part of the job!
