I've come back time and again this week to dopamine dressing; allowing our clothes to be the armor we show up in. Some of us might need more comfort in our clothes this week, others might need to feel powerful, and (like you wrote) some of us want to feel SEEN!
In my head I’m calling it ‘rage dressing’ lol, and yes I think there will be lots of different emotions and emotional dressing that we are all going to be working through for the foreseeable future. I am equally as obsessed with finding the softest coziest pieces to swaddle myself in for the long winter (the literal and metaphorical one!) xx
I’m feeling like this right now too! I wore a crazy lime, green and pink outfit yesterday and fell like the queen walking down the street. I want to take up space, be seen and take no bullshit.💕
Hear! Hear! Those colors sound amazing. I’m calling it “rage dressing,” or maybe “matriarchy dressing.” Not sure, still workshopping it, but the feeling is real! Thank you 🤍
I’ve been in all-black since Wednesday morning- and basically sunglasses all day to cover the puffy eyes. BUT I have a work conference this weekend and planning to wear some really fun and bold rented clothes … look out world!
Yes! And rental is perfect for these kinds of exuberant outfits! I specifically chose black denim and a dark shirt on Wednesday. I am 100% mourning the future we lost. I expect I’ll bounce back and forth between a deep desire for coziness this winter and wanting to push the envelope in making our presence and humanity known. ❤️
I see — and hear — you. Loud and clear. Showing up to be seen is forever on my radar as 70% of women speak to feeling invisible as they age. This week that stat grew. I have been on the Christopher John Rodgers x JCrew multistripe maxi skirt waitlist since launch, and hoping it comes through — this minimalist could stand to stand out.

Forever in my maximalist era 🤩 if more colorful street styles are what we get out of this era I’ll take it 🌈
I love your style so much!!

❤️❤️❤️ I love that skirt, and yes, I think older women especially should embrace their maximalist side if they can! I love Lyn Slater for that.
