Yeeess, I love this. I've been leaning into accessories more recently and have loved the difference they can make to the outfit. I always feel more "pulled together" somehow. Also those green leather gloves... perfection!
Those are my fave, too! I love Weekend MaxMara! Definitely not as popular in the US but such good classic yet cool options. Agree on the pulled together bit, which is what I’m looking for this year: dressing with more intent yet also ease. I think accessories might be the key! Thank you for the comment, Angharad!
Oooh, so many great finds here! Jewelry and accessories were my absolute favorite categories to buy as a merchant 💓 If you like delicate, more personal jewelry Catbird is my favorite brand. And I just reread Mad About the Boy and didn't realize the movie is out so soon - tysm for this reminder.
Thank you for the recommendation, Tina! Accessories is the ONE category I’ve never worked in as a merchant, ha! (Minus handbags, which I have done!) the options feel endless, which used to overwhelm me, but is starting to inspire me, especially with all the amazingly stylish people on Substack showing me the way!
Every image better than the previous! What a feast for the eyes - thanks for linking up so much goodness in one newsletter. I have pierced ears but really wanted multiple piercings and tried to get second ones in each ear a few years ago. It did not go well. It was also SO hard to sleep and my body straight up rejected them anyways. So! I have found a love for ear cuffs. They instantly make me feel more accessorized and cool (even though I will tell you honestly I’m not that cool haha). Humble suggestion to try one! No piercing gun required!
That is such a cool idea, Emily!! Any brands or styles you particularly like? I’ve thought about clip-on because there are some incredible pieces that I’ve seen from great designers, but I’m not sure I can handle the pain, I hear they hurt! I also think I’m going to lean into hair accessories this year, I don’t have a lot of hair-do skills and I feel like they’ll really jazz up a pony 😂
Gah, I love this! I am a reformed “not an accessory” person. I used to think of them as the throw away part of my wardrobe - accessories just didn’t seem that important, and I stuck to the basics. Now that I have two littles and my wardrobe leans heavily into function, accessories have become the spice of life! Cuffs over chunky sweaters? Sign me up!
I’m so with you!! I feel the exact same way, especially with the little ones and how that affects how I get dressed and feel put together and still like myself!
Gasp! That AB photo is going to haunt me now, huh?! Accessories feel like the logical new frontier for everyone wanting to add a little sumthin sumthin to their wardrobes. No surprise here, Lindsay, but I am also NOT a huge accessories girl. Last year I carefully bought a cuff, pendent necklace and a few fun beaded necklace as my way of dipping my toe in. So far I only really reach for the cuff and pendent because they are relatively minimal and feel easy enough to incorporate into an outfit.
Twinning, of course!! I love that you’re taking it slow, I am going to, too. I have harder time discerning what’s good (and good to me) in the accessories world, but there are so many amazing people here to show me the way, I’m excited to give it a go. Cuffs and pendants are my starting point, too!
A million times yes to everything in this post! Accessories have always been a key styling component for me but even I’ve noticed lately that I’m drawn to more and varied categories of them than I ever was before. I love the creativity it offers us bc they can make even the simplest outfit shine! Soooo many fab ideas here Lindsay - as per usual. Thank you for the shout outs!! 🩷🩷
I was so excited when I read your post yesterday! It was SO good and inspiring! I love the idea of making a big impact with smaller moments. And of course our minds were twinning ;)
There is definitely something madcap and exciting happening with accessories- I bet we’ll start seeing new new categories of items like —- who would have thought we’d be buying pretty phone chains, but here we are. Ditto the strap craze of pre-2020. Many exciting things to think about! Last thing: Most hair bows I’ve bought have wound up tied to my bag- not a bad look either! This was so good. Thank you Lindsay!
love a bow on a bag! So classic and chic! I’ve mostly been wearing my bows to school sporting events and reliving my cheerleading days/dreams. It feels bouncy and delightful! I’m in a weirdly unserious mood right now where I just want to have fun!
And I clicked enter too soon 😅. I forgot to mention that I have leaning into my foulard's hard since I arrived to Paris. I'm not use to very cold weather, so I'm wearing my coat every single day so they help me feel like i'm wearing something new. Also a bracelet over a cuff is my love language!!
Thank you, Xue! Isn’t that the best feeling - that buzz of delight! I’m in a major silver moment at the morning, feels a little more casual and easy for me!
Welcome to the hoard🤭 and thank you for the mention, I am flattered!
Happy to be here 😂!! Love your work, Veronica!
ABA always be accessorizing
Love it 😎

Mejuri for ear cuffs! I do not even notice I am wearing them. Clip ons sound painful to wear all day, but maybe on occasion?
Totally checking them out, thank you!

Why oh why can’t we live in the same city and have a coffee together?! So love that our approach is the same.
Thank you so much for the kind words, Lindsay!! Really appreciate it.
I’ve loved your writing for years, Amelia! It is always so insightful and entertaining.

I wore one of the brooches my great grandmother left to me to work today 🩷
That’s so special. I always loved the story of Madeline Albright and her “soft diplomacy” brooches ❤️
The Pasticcino purse is sooo cute!! Also, I opened so many links from this post. It was such a fun read and now I have more to go through.

I love that! Fun and function - what could be better??! And I’m so happy you enjoyed this post! Have the best time in Paris!
This was AMAZINGGGG! Every image was a delight. I ended with so many ideas buzzing--and questioning why everything in my jewelry box is gold! :P

Haha im trying so hard to stick to my low buy and not buy silver Jewelry!
