Hi!
It definitely feels like the lazy days of summer right now. Everything is moving at a bit of a slower pace, and it feels like attention spans and productivity are melting. This has been the most humid summer in the city that I can remember. We went from 66 and rainy to 96 and humid in the span of what felt like one day, and the weather gods haven’t looked back since.
Style-wise, we’re in The Great In-Between. This month is definitely the palette cleanser (as we call it at work) for the fashion calendar, not quite a transition to fall yet, but the summer florals have wilted a bit from the unwavering heat and aforementioned humidity.
But we gotta keep getting dressed! Let’s dive in.

What I Wore
One of my toxic traits is that I have a truly terrible memory. You know that weird tech bro saying: move fast and break things? I move fast and sometimes forget things. All that is to say, I saw someone fab on Substack pairing white/gray/chocolate brown, and I loved it. (Was it you? Let me know so I can give credit where credit is due!) I also was like, duh! Just like
navy + blue combo, why didn’t I think of this before? Simple twists, friends! That’s what summer is all about.Treasured seasonless wool double-breasted peak lapel Dries van Noten blazer (similar here), light heather gray baby tee (did you read
’s piece?), white Levi’s Ribcage ankle jeans, and soft suede Le Monde Beryl loafers (on sale at Net-a-Porter, more on that below!).What I Loved
I’ve been using this natural unscented deodorant for years (I also love these cleansing wipes in a pinch), but I was recently gifted Salt & Stone deodorant in Santal & Vetiver. (All their scents sound so good, but as an elder millennial I am contractually obliged to choose santal. That, and my husband is highly allergic to eucalyptus, which we learned after an unfortunate trip to the Union Square Farmer’s Market a few years ago.) I have been using it for the last few weeks, along with this body wash (replacing my boring unscented Aveeno). I’m sensitive to fragrance, but I’ve really been enjoying both of these products and the extra little boost during the (sometimes stinky) summer. I asked Salt & Stone for a discount code to share, and they offered LINDSAY15 for 15% off if you’d like to try them out!

What I Wore
Feeling the blues today. B Sides chinos, perfect oxford blue shirt, Liberty print bandana from Liberty in London (a souvenir from a trip there last summer), Gucci Jordaan loafers (the sales associate fit me perfectly, and I actually sized a half size down in these), and vintage black leather belt with brass buckle inherited from my husband’s grandfather.
What I Loved
I buy a lot from Net-a-Porter sales, and 70% off is the superpower to turn my wishlist into a shopping list. I’m a big fan of stocking up on off-season styles during the sale period, as long as you stick to your style pyramid and don’t get too swayed by the price (going to talk more about this this weekend). I snagged this chocolate brown corduroy blazer, this chocolate brown cable sweater vest, and these Lindsay heels, because I need new beige heels and these are the perfect height (and I’m a sucker for named styles, blame it on having a hard time finding Lindsay-with-an-A keychains at the boardwalk when I was a kid).
