Lindsay, this one really struck a chord with me. You perfectly captured the way that the Mountain West can (and does!) totally influence fashion. And you gave me fresh inspiration to- perhaps- do a better job of embracing it! I truly feel like a proud mom hearing someone compliment my kid. Thank you for this so much.
Thank you, Kelly! This means to much from you. I think so much of “American” fashion is connected to the exploratory roots and vast natural resources and beauty of this country, and at a time when so much is so tough, it feels good to me to embrace that!
i love jackson hole !! this is wonderful. seeing the practical side of fashion + western influences is “eu so” refreshing. (bonus points for the ashley olsen forest pic lol) 🌲✨
Any chance to reference that iconic image! (I also love that we never got any more context for it). Thanks Emilee, and I loved your thought-provoking post about loving fashion in/outside of NYC.
I am the polar opposite of an outdoorsy person, but these are some highly chic modern gorpcore outfits. I loved your bandana and sweater combo most of all (and any and all references to The Parent Trap).
Love this post and the outfits! Take away the western elements and this resonates strongly with my Vermont roots. As much as I love to be fancy, at heart I basically just want to wear Patagonia baggies every day. 😊 Great ideas here to do that with a soupçon of chic!
Thank you, Annie! I’m so glad it connected, and I totally agree with you on loving to dress up but at the root of it, just wanting to be comfortable and sporty!
As a New Mexico native living in a small town in NY off the Appalachian Trail (and worked for Patagonia once upon a time!) this zeroed in on something for me! Highly recommend the below Substack written by two women who are pro skiers and love the intersection of sport, the outdoors and fashion. It’s one of my favorites!
The way you captured the way that women, especially me, want to dress right now is truly incredible. I love the mishmash of the fashion meets the practical, and you executed it beautifully with all of your ideas. That plaid shirt is officially on my wish list, my goodness - what an incredible find! Everything about this was picture perfect—another fabulous one for the Fashion Soup books!
This is the kindest comment, Sogole, thank you. I don’t know if it’s because the world feels so heavy right now or what, but getting back to nature, being with our friends (loved your picnic post so much), and being outdoors is really inspiring how I want to dress and live right now! Not fussy but still vibrant! You always capture this so well, too!
I’m here for your dedication to sourcing the sleeveless sweatshirt 😆 and it does look perfect!!! And your outfit you say comes closest to your true personal style - LOVE!! Red is your color😍
I thought there would be tons! I can picture it perfectly in my head 😂 and thank you, I think you’re right that red might be my color - I just bought a red living room rug!🤪🥳
I loved this take on Jackson Hole style. It's so much more than just clothes, it’s about real life and adventure wrapped into one! Love the Patagonia shorts and jelly sandals!!! Time to go for a hike ;)
Thank you, Traci! I love your style and feel like it has elements of this vibe?? Def time to go for a hike (or an urban hike as I sometimes call my treks down 5th Avenue!$
So good. The outfits feel made for real life in the most fashion-y way. I am obsessed! thanks so much for the mention and have a great rest of your holiday!!

Ah, thank you, Tina! You’re in the heart of gorpcore-land so this means a lot ;)!!
Please come here and take the gorpcore aesthetic up like 1M notches, thank you in advance for your service :)
😂😂😂
Tiny feet unite! Almost bought the same from the Jamie Haller sale but doing no buy July- jeals now!
Good for you! I should be, but I’m a sucker for a sale…😆

Thank you so much for your comment, Victoria, and the recommendation! Just popped over and subscribed, can’t wait to read them!
Such a good one - and you're so lucky for scoring those Jamie Haller sandals. They live in my head rent-free
I’m excited! It did feel a bit like winning the lottery when I got the email!
Such fun summery fits I love how you kept the essence of nostalgia while modernizing the fits
Thank you! This was a fun one for me, I could have easily kept going…!
saving this!! legit every summer I want to dress like this and struggle to balance between athletic / fashion. This is awesome!
Yay, so happy you enjoyed it!!

You’re so right— it’s the literal action of “touching grass” that brings us back to basics and the way we all want to express ourselves!!
Forest bathing!!

LOL! You are very correct— it definitely does!
As a Wyomingite I loved this! Thank you 🏔️
Ah, thank you!! Hope I did it justice!

“Made for real life in the most fashion-y way” might be my life motto, you nailed it! Thanks, Jordyn - always inspired by your style!
These fits are all so good! We may have the same default style. Love the sage Stios and Purple baggies.
Thanks, Lee! I hope you had a great trip! I have both of these in my cart at the moment, love them so much.
